A soft tissue ultrasound scan serves to image a mass felt in the superfical tissue of the patient. It is a quick, non-invasive way of determining the characteristics of the mass in order to come to a diagnosis.

What to expect from a soft tissue ultrasound?

Ultrasound gel is placed on the patient’s skin and the mass is scanned with an ultrasound probe. Multiple images of it are taken and full report will provided. The results of the scan will be sent to the patient or her/his referring doctor within  hours of the examination being carried out.

The examination lasts about 20 minutes
